A special groundbreaking ceremony was held this morning in downtown Maryville for a new pocket park located at Main and 3rd Street. Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel says construction for the new park will begin soon.
"The Pocket Park really allows for again, place-making and a sense of pride in our downtown providing additional green space and some unique features that will be points of interest for the community for a long time."
McDanel adds the project is the result of partnerships between the City of Maryville, the Maryville Downtown Improvement organization, Nodaway County Economic Development, and Northwest Missouri State University.
